What's new
Give every team trusted tax answers

Symmetry Tax Engine MCP
Bring the Symmetry Tax Engine®, which calculates paychecks for 64M+ employees across 7,000+ jurisdictions, into the AI tools your team already uses with Symmetry Tax Engine MCP. Every team can now get trusted answers on rates, wage bases, and what changes on a given date, plus the tax changes we're monitoring but haven't yet confirmed, without waiting on engineering.
- Answer withholding questions in natural language, straight from the engine.
- Check what changes on January 1 before it hits a paycheck.
- Stay ahead of tax changes still moving through legislation.
Take garnishments off your build list

A new garnishment calculations module in the Symmetry Tax Engine® brings compliant garnishment withholdings to your platform right alongside paycheck tax calculations, without the work of building and maintaining the rules yourself.
- Calculate compliant garnishments in the same engine as your taxes.
- Replace manual calculations and guesswork.
- Spend less time checking, more time reviewing exceptions.
Back up every rate change with proof, without the hunt

Symmetry Guides keeps every rate and jurisdiction in one place, and now backs each change with the official source document, plus exports and webhook replay to keep your records and systems in sync.
- Pull the official agency document from the tax page.
- Export your filtered tax list for audits and review.
- Replay missed webhook deliveries in one step.
Answer Symmetry integration questions where you already work

Docs MCP lets your AI assistant answer questions from Symmetry's API references, guides, and integration docs, so your engineers get answers without leaving the tools they already use.
- Ask your AI assistant how an endpoint works.
- Resolve integration questions in the tool you're coding in.
- Scope an integration before writing any code.
The Legislative Landscape
Here's what we tracked, researched, and delivered on behalf of every people tech platform running on Symmetry this fall:

Maryland FAMLI: one less thing to build
Starting January 1, 2027, payroll teams in Maryland have a new tax to get right: Family and Medical Leave Insurance, at 0.45% each for employees and employers, up to the Social Security wage base ($192,300 for 2027). Smaller employers and employer pick-ups each have their own rules, which we confirmed directly with the Comptroller of Maryland and the Maryland Department of Labor. It's already built into the Symmetry Tax Engine®, so our clients don't spend January untangling it.
Looking ahead
Compliance will keep changing into 2027, and agentic payroll raises the stakes on getting it right. We'll keep tracking it, confirming it, and building it into the products your team relies on, so you can keep building.
