Here's what we loved and learned at this year's Congress.
One of the many benefits of working at Symmetry and working with Symmetry is our continued professional development. Each year, we send a team to the American Payroll Association (APA) Congress conference. Here is a glance at what some of our team thought of Congress 2017.
Frank Tresnak, business development manager
Congress 2017 was very beneficial for me. I met many new people, saw many friends from the industry and many of our customers that were also vendors at the show. I learned many things about tax rules changes that are coming, saw our tools and software in action and got to hear about and share ideas with existing customers.
Jon Bohnert, president
American Payroll Association Congress in Orlando was another good conference for Symmetry Software. We had over 500 booth visitors and many folks asked to learn about our newly announced Minimum Wage lookup feature. It is always fun announcing new products and functionality at the conference but candidly, we underestimated the pain that people experience with tracking minimum wage. We heard some horror stories on the show floor. The good news is that we will fix their problem with Payroll Point! And of course, it was fun seeing longtime friends at the conference.
Zach Holdren, customer support specialist
I greatly enjoyed attending Congress 2017. Not only did I get to meet customers that I had only previously talked to by phone and email, I was also able to help them with questions and issues that they had not yet taken the time to reach out to us about. I enjoyed learning more about the payroll process by attending classes and listening to the common issues that our customers face on a day-to-day basis. And as always, it was fun to see people get excited about gathering Payroll Goddess buttons to take back to the rest of their friends at their payroll departments.
Troy Prosser, senior account executive
This year's Congress in Orlando was truly exciting. I did not realize how many payroll professionals struggle with the tracking of the minimum wage rates throughout the U.S. The buzz around our solution was electric and personally, I had many folks stop by and ask us how we could help them with their minimum wage issues. The most fulfilling aspect of Congress was seeing our current clients and hearing how happy they are with our solutions. It proves that the relationships we build are essential in how we are viewed in the payroll community.
Becky Montchal, director of marketing
I enjoyed Congress this year - the buzz about minimum wage and our unique ability to identify wage rates with geocoding was really exciting! I also really enjoyed seeing all the people I work with setting up the state conferences, and of course our friends at the APA.
